Coral Gables was the result of the efforts of George Merrick, who dreamed of creating a small community close to the rapidly expanding City of Miami. He envisioned a magnificent hotel, a great university, a grand City Hall, a Venetian pool, magnificent country clubs and golf courses, forty miles of waterways and majestic canopied streets. Merrick’s dream is a wonderful reality today, and just like the 1920’s when people flocked from all over the globe to buy a piece of this dream - this dream is still for sale today.
